janemarcus:used/or know anyone who has used couchsurfing? I’m thinking it could be awesome, but I’d like to hear some first-hand experience first.
Yeah! I couchsurfed in Rapid City, SD and Cody, Wyoming. I met some really great people and had some pretty amazing conversations. Every one I know who has done it has had positive experiences, although it’s definitely a good idea to vet the people you’re surfing with/hosting. Couchsurfers tend to be open, funny, nice people.
QUALITY.
THANK YOU! It seems pretty legit, and they do have a lot of safety precautions, but hearing it from you makes me feel a thousand times more secure with it. Awesome!

We don’t have that many cats left in the cat room! I must smell bad, because that’s really the only excuse I can come up with for there to be half of the cats left from the last time I was there. Really… what the hell happened? All of my mainstays bailed on me! Seriously… aside from Dancer (is he human, or is he… ugh the joke is old already) and this little gal, all of the cats I’ve featured in this tumblr are gone.
This is Patches, my new project. She enjoys an occasional petting, but I can’t even let her out because she’s happy to hide under the cages for all eternity. The most difficult situation is an adult cat who was probably dumped here because it just doesn’t really care for humans. It’s content to sit on the windowsill, eat food, and scratch up your favorite couch.
At least this one is cute. She has this perpetually forlorn look in her eyes. We’ve gotta put that pout to work!
That’s a good thing though, right??
